Wendo Hausner
Hausner Wendo has over 15 years of strategic, technical and operational experience in landscape restoration and management, environmental sustainability, climate and disaster risk resilience in environmental protection, climate adaptation and humanitarian contexts, mostly in Africa and across other countries in the world.
While technically supporting the Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action portfolio at WVI Global Centre, he contributes to global and regional environmental and climate action conferences, and has been involved in research and publication on community-based adaptation, ecosystem-based adaptation, disaster risk reduction and locally-led climate action financing mechanisms. He currently focuses on capacity building on regreening communities and related nature-based solutions to climate and environmental challenges, supporting tools and processes for social and environmental safeguards, and climate resilience interventions for the most vulnerable children and their families.
Key areas of interest to her are locally-led climate action and related financing, landscape restoration and management, and disaster resilience. Hausner is specifically interested in the research – policy – practice nexus on Nature-based Solutions for climate and disaster resilience, particularly in urban contexts, leveraging on communities and their skills, experiences and capacities.
