Michael Mark Segwaya is an accomplished finance and banking executive with over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. He currently serves as the Board Chair of World Vision Uganda, providing strategic oversight and governance leadership to the organisation.

Michael is the Executive Director and Chief Finance Officer of Absa Bank Uganda, where he has played a pivotal role in driving financial performance, strengthening governance structures, and overseeing key functions including Finance, Treasury, Legal, and Corporate Affairs

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in strategy formulation, financial management, and organisational transformation. Notably, he has contributed significantly to improving cost efficiency and led major integration and systems transformation initiatives. 

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Makerere University and an MBA from Oxford Brookes University (UK). He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). 

Michael has served on several boards, particularly within faith-based and educational institutions, reflecting his strong commitment to values-driven leadership and community development. He is a devoted Christian and actively engaged in ministry and church leadership. 

On a personal level, Michael is married and is deeply committed to family life, faith, and mentorship.
