In Indonesia, children are leading research to improve school meal programmes through World Vision’s ENOUGH campaign. Their voices reveal real challenges and hopes for nutritious, inclusive meals in schools.

Sadi Alhassan, a 60-year-old widow displaced from Torodi, overcame her challenges through her involvement in a savings group supported by World Vision Niger. Trained to make soap, couscous, and sesame oil, she turned her skills into a source of income for her family. Her group of 25 women generated 200,000 CFA francs, enabling microcredit and solidarity donations. Sadi was able to send her daughters to school and improve her household hygiene. Her journey embodies the power of female empowerment through solidarity and training.

Since July 2024, floods in Niger have affected more than one million people, causing loss of life and the destruction of homes, fields, and livestock. In the Tahoua region, World Vision has provided critical assistance to those affected by the floods by distributing non-food item (NFI) kits and cash assistance. These interventions have enabled families to feed themselves, rebuild their homes, and strengthen their resilience to future disasters. Testimonies from beneficiaries illustrate the tangible impact this assistance has had on their daily lives.

The provision of daily school meals is renewing the motivation for children to attend school and aspire to excel academically. This incentive is fostering new narratives associated with learning and schooling that used to be an afterthought for many children and parents in rural communities in central and northern Mozambique.

The Walen association in partnership with the JOFA – ACTE Project offered the opportunity to 20 young girls to strengthen their digital skills and gain new insights into professional and entrepreneurial opportunities, with the aim of combatting child labour.
