This research, commissioned by World Vision’s Middle East and Eastern Europe (MEER) regional office in partnership with Qualisus Consulting, aims to assess the broader impact of cash and voucher assistance (CVA) programmes on marginalised groups and young people’s mental health and psychosocial well-being, livelihood-resilience, community and social cohesion, and child well-being.

For almost five years now, the Middle East and Eastern European region has been building evidence on what improves the well-being of vulnerable children and their families.

In the context of climate change, the Middle East holds signifcant importance due to its vulnerability to climate impacts, geopolitical implications in global energy markets, potential to infuence global climate patterns, and cultural and historical signifcance. Children and young people in the Middle East occupy a unique position within the narrative of climate action.

Transforming Lives through Mental Health and Psychosocial Support

As March marks the fifth anniversary of the Coalition invasion of Iraq, some steps have been taken to improve the lives of those displaced; Jordan has opened up it’s classrooms to 50,000 Iraqi refugees this academic year, and an amnesty was issued for those refugees living in Lebanon.

From the very beginning of the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh and first flow of arrivals of forcibly displaced population, WV Armenia immediately has established Response teams at national and regional levels and the staff is already engaged in relief actions.
