World Vision Kenya Launches ‘It Takes Us All to End Violence against Children’ campaign

The push to end all forms of violence against children was reinforced with World Vision Kenya launching a five year campaign dubbed ‘It Takes Us All to End Violence against Children’ at Ilaramatak, Narok County on Wednesday, March 15th, 2017.

Research by World Vision Kenya indicates that forced child marriage prevalence at Ilaramatak is over 40 per cent. In Kenya, one out of every four girls is married off before they turn 18years of age (Unicef, 2014).

The campaign seeks to end forced child marriage, Female Genital Mutilation/ Cutting and sexual violence. Violence affects children overall well-being jeopardising their ability to reach their fullest potential.

“It takes children’s voices, Government, humanitarian workers, faith based organisations, donors, the media and all stakeholders to end violence against children” said World Vision Kenya Interim National Director, John Makoni.
