I am smart, healthy and influential!

Child Friendly Province is the goal of the Papua Province government. Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) as a humanitarian organization focusing on children, supported the Sentani government by helping make the Papua Children Festival happend during August 2014 using the theme: I am smart, healthy, and influential.
More than 1,200 Papua children learned more about life skills such as public speaking, writing, and the Child Right Conventions. This festival aimed to encourage children to understand more about their rights.
"I'm happy that I could join this Papua Children Festival and meet many children from various areas," said Rivaldi.
The children were also equipped with knowledge about media, journalism, and local Papua culture.
They visted a museum at Cenderawasih University, The Radio Republic of Indonesia in Sentani's office, Cenderawasih Pos (local newspaper) office, and Gramedia book store.
Through this event, the children made new friends. Rivaldi, a boy from Ifar Besar village, never expected to meet many new friends at this festival.
"I'm happy that I could join this Papua Children Festival and meet many children from various areas," he said.
The festival ran from 19th until 22nd August 2014 and brought many positive impacts for children, even some of them were very enthusiastic to share what they learned with their friends.
"I will share with my friends in Child Learning Group about what I learned at the festival," shared Alex, 10, with excitement.
