Wednesday, May 28, 2014

"If Korean people care for our children's education, we must be more caring to our children education," says head of Sumba district Gideon Mbalaroja.

The Bussan Education Department from South Korea supported the community through World Vision to construct a school building, water tank, and school toilets. In February, the construction of the new building and its facilities began. The Head of East Sumba district, 11 representatives of World Vision Korea, community people, and children attended the kick off event. The local government granted 2,000 square meters of land for the school.

Astika, an elementary school fourth-grader said, "I am glad, because we have a new school. I will study harder."

Banggawatu elementary school will be an oasis that can fulfill the needs of village children and at the same time will be a good example of other schools in East Sumba.
