Manado Flash Floods Update: Post-Flash Floods, Puddles and Mud Still Remain
One month after the flash flood disaster that hit Manado, there are still a lot of home works to do. Revitalization is not just the responsibility of the local government, but all of us also must take a part.
The flood has left piles of mud in various areas of Manado. In the region of Tikala and Wenang, the water as the flood remnants that mix with the mud still inundates the streets and squares. During the day, when the weather is hot, the dry mud becomes flying dust and sands. But when it rains, the mud settles back and makes the roads become slippery. Public buildings and government offices are still in the stage of cleaning so that they cannot operate normally. The clean water through the pipes also cannot be enjoyed by the whole community. There are still many people who rely on bottled mineral water and government assistance by clean water supply truck.
