World Vision Zambia and Copperbelt University (CBU) have taken a massive step forward in addressing the pressing issue of land degradation by formalizing a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic collaboration will see the two institutions work together to advance research and promote sustainable land restoration through the Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) model.

World Vision phases out 4 Area Programmes
For the past 15 years, World Vision’s Area Programmes (APs) empowered 103 villages from 15 communes of the four districts, by fostering local ownership and sustainability. A participatory approach involving community members in planning, implementing, and evaluating projects ensured that the initiatives were tailored to the community’s specific needs and priorities. During that period, 24,073 most vulnerable children and their families received the tools to overcome poverty, through projects addressing malnutrition, limited health and sanitation access, improving education, empowering youth, and protecting children from abuse and exploitation.

How integrating support systems heal displaced women in Ukraine from the wounds of war
After enduring months of devastation in war-torn Kharkiv, Nataliia and her 18-year-old daughter Dasha fled to escape the haunting nightmares and escalating mental health issues. Now, in a World Vision-supported social apartment known as the Halfway House, they start from scratch. With access to safe shelter, essential support, and holistic psychological, social, and legal services, Nataliia and Dasha are beginning to rebuild their lives.

Sustainable solutions for an ongoing Crisis
World Vision Lebanon has implemented sustainable solutions to address water shortages in Lebanon, benefiting both Lebanese and Syrian refugee communities.
In areas like Mesa, Faour, and Bar Elias in Bekaa, World Vision Lebanon has installed solar panels and communal water points, improving access to clean water. Local leaders and residents highlight the positive impact of these initiatives, which now provide around 39,000 Lebanese citizens and 11,329 Syrian refugees with reliable and free potable water.
