World Vision Nicaragua delivered donation to evacuated people.

A donation with cloth packages to one hundred families, six tents to cover 144 mts2, 52 personal hygiene, 48 water pockets, 15 recipients to storage water with capacity of 5 gallons, each one with keys and kitchen utensils.

The donation was given by the national director from World Vision Nicaragua, María Haydée Pereira to Norman Sánchez, Operation´s Director from the Executive Secretary of SINAPRED (National System for Prevention and Disasters Attention).

The official from SINAPRED, expressed his thanks for the donation, which will be given to the families. He added that the government is working in effective and coordinated ways, so families on the shelters can have what they need. At the same time they are assessing with more details, the situations on the affected areas. “That´s why up at these moments we have only preliminary data”  

 “The main need of these families on the shelters is food, which we have been handling effectively”. However he expressed that once they have all the information with more details from each area it will be necessary to start reconstruction and participation from all the partners is needed.

On her side, World Vision director offered all the support from this organization to handle children´s in shelters. “For us this is a priority and we have trained staff to help children to heal pain or traumas, that situation like these can cause”.

World Vision has a special area denominated “Children in Emergency” through the one they have had supported children in such situations, when they have left their homes.

In Nicaragua, around 300 people are in shelters located in Managua, the capital, after two main earthquakes a bit up to 6 grades on Ritcher scala that shaked the main cities of the country.
