Friday, February 28, 2014

More than 100 days after typhoon Haiyan struck their community, survivors are doing their best to return to their normal lives. Most often, personal hygiene and sanitation take a back seat as families allot their limited resources to buy food and materials for house repair.

World Vision's Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH), one of the components of the recovery response conducted its second round of hygiene kits distribution to more than a thousand families in the village of Bagay, Daanbantayan town in northern Cebu province. A lecture on household sanitation and demo on the proper hand washing was conducted to encourage parents and children to maintain personal hygiene as one of the effective ways to prevent diseases.
