The European Union in lesotho funded 'Accelerating Action for Eliminating Child Labour and Forced Labour (AECFL) project, led by World Vision International Lesotho in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has made significant strides in its first year. Key achievements include supporting the enactment of the Labour Act 2024, revitalizing the Programme Advisory Community on Child Labour and Anti-Trafficking Committee (PACC), and advancing the National Action Plan on Child Labour. The project has empowered over 300 community leaders and trained youth to lead peer dialogues, reaching 1959 community members with vital awareness on child labour risks and reporting mechanisms. Additionally, vulnerable children identified through these efforts have been referred to essential social services, strengthening protection frameworks and fostering safer environments for children across Lesotho.
