Ruth is the Regional Communications and Advocacy Director for World Vision East Africa. She is a strategic and visionary leader with more than 25 years of experience in advocacy and communications, with deep expertise in child rights, policy influence, humanitarian advocacy, and campaign leadership. Her work empowers children and young people by advancing systemic change through compelling storytelling and effective policy engagement.
She has held senior leadership roles with World Vision in Tanzania, Kenya, and the United States, and previously worked with Save the Children and served as a consultant for UNICEF Kenya. In her current role, Ruth oversees regional strategy, public positioning, reputation management, brand awareness, external engagement, campaigns, and humanitarian advocacy across nine field offices: Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Ruth holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School (USA) and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Brock University (Canada).
