Barzil

Barzil Mwakulomba is a seasoned humanitarian and development professional with over 18 years of experience leading complex humanitarian responses and development programmes across East and Southern Africa.

He currently serves as Regional Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs Director for World Vision East Africa, the organisation’s largest regional portfolio (nine countries of operation with over 6,500 staff), providing strategic leadership for humanitarian preparedness, response, and recovery. Barzil has held key regional and country‑level roles and has led operations in Kenya, Mozambique, and Sudan, supporting life‑saving interventions in highly challenging environments.

Barzil holds a Graduate Certificate in Humanitarian Leadership from Deakin University, a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership.

He is deeply committed to strengthening humanitarian capacity, mentoring leaders, and enabling individuals and teams to reach their full potential in order to save lives and contribute to a more just and humane world.
