“Children living with disabilities are marginalised in our society…. However, when presented with an opportunity and the provision of the right assistive devices, the children can acquire an education that can transform their lives,” asserts Sydney Simubwa, Project Manager, World Vision Zambia, as he considers the challenges children with special needs often encounter when it comes to education access.

Restrictions on movements have seriously affecting access to emergency health care services. To support communities, World Vision is supporting 20 health centers with material and training so they can provide emergency health cares to communities at the village level. In the village of El Karmel, this project is bringing hope among mothers and children.

Responding to children’s urgent call for climate justice, World Vision has developed the first organisation-wide Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action (ESCA) Strategic Roadmap. World Vision completed the first stocktake of ESCA -related programmes implemented during financial years 2023-24 across 69 countries.

Early intervention and community care were crucial in saving young Délcio from severe malnutrition after a bout of malaria in northern Mozambique. A timely referral from a community volunteer to a World Vision-supported health committee connected his mother with vital nutrition education. Empowered with new knowledge, she transformed his diet, leading to his full recovery.

For three decades, World Vision Myanmar has empowered families to regain their livelihoods, enhance food security, access healthcare and protective systems, and invest in education to ensure the well-being of children.

This report, “Advocates for Change: Asia Pacific Children and Youth’s Voices & Perspectives on Climate Action and Disaster Risk Reduction”, is the result of the collaboration between partners from different development organizations. This project commenced in May 2024 and culminated in the launch of the report in October 2024 by the Asia Pacific Coalition for School Safety (APCSS).
