World Day Against Child Labour: Advocating for children like Kevin

Friday, June 12, 2020

With the temporary closure of schools by governments to prevent the spread of COVID-19, several children out of school are unfortunately used as additional workforce. Kevin, an 11-year-old boy from the Central African Republic (CAR), works in the forge during the COVID-19 outbreak.

World Vision is working with community and faith leaders, as well as parents, to increase awareness on child protection issues - including child labour - and violence and abuse against children like Kevin.

Please sign our petition to help call on governments and institutions to urgently increase funding for health, education and other social services that protect children from all forms of violence and abuse, especially for girls and boys at greater risk due to the impacts of COVID-19: https://www.wvi.org/ittakesaworld/global-petition
