Saving Lives on the Front Lines: Honouring Ebola Responders This World Humanitarian Day

Christian Kasereka, head of the #Ebola response programme in the #DRC, talks about his deployment to #Beni and #Bunia, the epicentre of the outbreak, where community resistance and misinformation are hindering response efforts and exposing aid workers and healthcare staff to attacks by local people, as well as to the risk of infection by the virus. This has led World Vision DRC to use faith-based awareness-raising initiatives to build trust and break the chain of transmission through an approach known as the ‘Channel of Hope’ (#CoH). Christian calls for the protection of humanitarian workers and for a response that is primarily community-centred.
