Covid-19 context increased the child abuses in Kimbanseke

As we commemorate the Day of the Girl Child on 11 October 2022, World Vision listened to the children of Kimbanseke, one of its intervention areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sephora, 17, is a child parliamentarian and monitors the day-to-day abuse of young girls in her community. The number of sexual and economic abuses against young girls has increased as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. World Vision supports local structures including the Children's Parliament to ensure that child protection is guaranteed.
