A project against malnutrition is transforming lives in Niger
In Angoual Gao (Niger), severe malnutrition was a daily reality. Aichatou Sahidou, a mother of six, recalls: “Our children constantly suffered from malnutrition, and we were always on the go to health centres.”
Prior to the "Improving Nutrition and Food Security" project, families lacked the resources and knowledge to properly feed their children. Confronted with this situation, mothers would spend long hours trying to find ways to feed their children, often without success.

The arrival of the nutrition centre, an initiative of World Vision Niger, marked a turning point. Mothers learned to prepare balanced meals: "Here, we prepare appropriate meals, and our children eat and drink safely," testifies Aichatou.

The results are evident: “Today, they are happy and healthy. As mothers, we are relieved, and so are their fathers. When my baby came home from the centre, his father greeted him with joy.”
Thanks to the goats distributed, the children receive nutritious milk: “Thanks to the milk, we can offer them an even more balanced diet.” The women have also been trained in saving and management: “Today, thanks to the savings group, we can borrow money and create our own businesses.”

This project has transformed the lives of Aichatou and many other families. “When our children go to school, we can feed them so they can study well and we can be proud,” she says with a smile.
And she concludes: “We are eternally grateful to this project and its initiators. May God bless them.”
