Building roads to school and clinics

Friday, October 16, 2015

Khway Hta is a village 25 kilo meters from Yenenchaung Township. In 2014, in partnereship with World Vision and World Food Prgramme, the community renovated this road which connects the village to a health clinic and a middle school.

Before, the road was quite slippery and difficult to travel on for young students going to school and pregnant women going to health clinic. Parents were afraid to let their children go to school through the dangerous road whenever there was rain.

The most happy are the young students who use the road almost every day. “Last year I started go to middle school and I have to walk in slippery road especially in rainy season and it is difficult for me and sometime I fell down and dirty my uniform. But now I can go to school smoothly and have no worry," says Ma Thandar Lwin who is attending Grade-7 in Kan Gyi School.

“This program is effective and meets our community needs. We are participated in this activity effectively as we are sure that will make our community different," explained U Than Tun, Khway Hta village head.
