They no longer sleep on wet muddy ground

Rainy days for grandmother Nkoale and her grandchildren used to be miserable. They would sleep on wet muddy ground using plastic to cover the floor. Thanks to World Vision Sefikaneng Area Development Programme, the family now sleeps in a new house on mattresses.
The girls and their granny no longer have to sleep on a wet muddy floor, thanks to a new house from World Vision.
When it rains, especiallyif it is a planting season, many peoplesmile all the way to their home gardens as well as the field to go and plant something.
For grandmother Mamajone, 71, and the three orphans she supports, rain was their worst nightmare. It would pour through every hole of the shack, getting the floor on where they sleep muddy, wet and not suitable for a human being to sleep on.
It is Friday afternoon and raining heavily. Grannyputs every kitchen utensil against every drop that is coming from the hole in the roof but that does not seem to help. The floor is wet and muddy.
“It is better raining during the daybecause we can save our belongings and take them to a safer place. When we used to sleep in the shack, I used not to sleep, thinking it would fall on us. Even when I was at school if it rains, I used not to concentrate thinking about how my home looked like”, laments Puseletso Nkoale,13, the eldest of the three orphans.
“I used to feel like God does not love us,” she says looking down as if ashamed of what she has just said. “I want to thank World Vision for rescuing us. I remember we used to sleep on the plastics as our floor mats, and when it rained it would be worse. We now feel safe in our new home. God has answered our prayers. I see his work through World Vision.”
Puseletso is the eldest of the three double orphans staying with grandmother Mamajone. She could not contain herself. For her, World Vision is a God-sent angel that has saved her family from harsh weather conditions.
“I pray God that he gives you more,” reveals Nkoale, who also could not contain herself. With tears running her cheeks she reveals, “I thank God for what World Vision has done for my family.”
