Reasons to raise children with tenderness
1. Violence does not educate or correct behaviors, it only produces more violence.
2. Physical and verbal aggression affects children psychologically and emotionally.
3. If overcoming aggression is difficult for an adult, it is even worse for a girl or a boy. Violence also cause feelings of heartbreak, helplessness, anger, affecting children´s personality and performance.
4. Corporal punishment is accepted because it has been naturalized in our cultural patterns. Very few dare to say it is wrong, let alone to intervene when they see a case of violence. Girls and boys have dignity, they have rights and they are as much citizens as adults are, only that we prevent them from defending themselves.
