Lilian Mumbi

Lilian Mumbi Kamonjo is a senior humanitarian leader with over 25 years of experience delivering large-scale emergency and development programmes across Africa and Asia. She currently leads World Vision Ethiopia’s Food and Cash Programming portfolio, overseeing multi-donor operations that reach millions of vulnerable children and families in complex and high-risk contexts.

Lilian has managed portfolios exceeding $300 million and led responses serving over 8.8 million people, working closely with partners including WFP, USG-DOS, USDA, ECHO, UNICEF and Global Affairs Canada. She has held senior leadership roles in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Mozambique, Afghanistan, East Timor, Zimbabwe, DR Congo and is widely recognised for her strength in operational leadership, partnership building, risk management and integrated programming.

She is passionate about strengthening systems, developing leaders and advancing accountable, high-impact humanitarian assistance that improves child well-being and builds resilient communities.

Lilian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Central Missouri State University (USA), a Level 7 Diploma in Supply Chain & Logistics Management (UK Ofqual-regulated, equivalent to a Master’s level qualification), a Diploma in Humanitarian Services from the University of Melbourne (Australia), and a Master of Public Health  (Disaster Management) from James Lind Institute, Geneva.
