SDK Watobuku, a primary school in East Flores has required the students to save their pocket money since the school has joined in Saving Campaign initiated by Wahana Visi Indonesia. Last December, 150 children who had saved their money were really happy. At that time, they were allowed to open their piggy bank filled with their saved pocket money. Some of them wished they could buy everything they want with that money.

After children opening their piggy bank, Agustinus, the headmaster ask both students and teachers to gather in the field and give them a chance to report their saving result. And the result was more than they tought.

"After saving money for one year, the result was incredible. We have collected more than 27 million rupiahs from 150 students," said Agustinus, the headmaster of SDK Watobuku.

Teachers were also happy with the achievements that the students get including Rensi, a teacher staff who was really interesting with Saving Campaign held in the school. That was why Rensi never stop assisting her students although the activity was always held in the afternoon, the time where she had another priority in her home.

"I'm happy and proud of them since I could assist them and encourage them to save money before they buy everything," said Rensi.

Finally, the children could buy dream stuffs like bike, bag, books, shoes and others. The children who have frequently saved their money in school finally could feel the benefit of saving money while the other students who have not saved their money felt encouraged to do this good habit next year.

"Previously we didn't like to save our money. We promised ourselves that for next year, we will start saving our own money," said some children declaring their interest in saving money.

For 150 children, the day when they opened their piggy bank together could be one of the best days in their life. With this saving campaign, it is hoped that children could start saving money from early age for a better future.
