Mount Kelud Eruption Update: Ash is Everywhere
Kediri’s streets are covered with volcanic ash from an eruption of Mount Kelud. A massive cleanup was underway in the region, where soldiers and volunteers used brooms, mops and water cannons to clear roads that were covered in white ash. The rain help decrease the air pollution, but made the streets slick. Some people are returning home to begin cleaning their houses too. Evacuation points are still inhabited at red zone, around 10 km from the crater.
