In Pictures: Providing safe water in dry Lake Chad Basin region

Wednesday, July 5, 2017

World Vision works with thousands of people in vulnerable communities in Niger’s Diffa region and Chad's Lac region to provide safe drinking water. Here, access to water is poor. Women and children have to travel 3 kilometres or one hour to fetch water.

World Vision believes that well-being is impossible without sustainable, equitable access to clean water, especially for girls and women.

Today 68,000 people (mostly displaced children, refugees and host communities) have access to safe water sources and appropriate sanitation facilities provided by World Vision.

Water is now available to most girls and women living in camps and settlement sites. Here are their portraits.
