Children help design the New Urban Agenda at HabitatIII

Thursday, October 20, 2016

This week in Ecuador, the United Nations convened a special Conference--HabitatIII--to discuss the challenges of cities and their role in sustainable global development.

As an advocate for children and a leader developing sustainable urban communities, World Vision was asked to lead a special assembly where more than 100 children and youth from around the world came together to provide input to leaders about what their “dream city” would look like.

At the close of the Children and Youth Assembly, 10-year-old sponsored child, Emily Daniela, from Ecuador addressed the leaders, summarizing issues and problems children from around the world identified want to see addressed the New Urban Agenda.
