Committee Staff Report Finds No Evidence World Vision Knew ISRA was Blocked Party

Wednesday, December 30, 2020

World Vision is grateful to Sen. Grassley and the committee staff for conducting a thorough investigation. World Vision takes our compliance obligations seriously and shares Sen. Grassley and the committee staff’s objective for good stewardship. We exist to help build a better world for children and their families, serving in the name of Jesus Christ, in some of the most impoverished and war-torn places in the world.

We appreciate the acknowledgement that the committee staff’s report to the chairman “found no evidence that World Vision knew that ISRA was a sanctioned entity prior to receiving notice from Treasury.” Terrorism runs counter to everything World Vision stands for as an organization and we strongly condemn any act of terrorism or support for such activities.

World Vision is also pleased that the committee staff’s report praised the changes we have made to our vetting process. And we also take seriously the committee staff’s recommendations to continue to examine other opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our blocked parties screening processes. Building a culture of continuous improvement is consistent with World Vision’s desires and practices.

World Vision has a history of strong financial accountability and program performance. For over 70 years we have been helping the world’s most vulnerable in some 100 countries without compromising our beliefs nor our commitment to integrity as we work with governments throughout the world.
