World Vision Nicaragua supports victims
According to UN figures more than 130,000 people have been affected by heavy rains that have hit the country in recent days. Of these, 7.730 live in areas where they are located in the Area Development Programs served by World Vision Nicaragua.
Some 100 rural communities in seven highly affected departments are receiving emergency humanitarian aid by the agency World Vision Nicaragua.
"Currently, as the first phase of the emergency response are addressing all the help to people who are in shelters in total, in 13 municipalities, totaling 1.724 people. Support includes food delivery to 15 days, blankets, mattresses, hygiene kits, water, "Bayardo said Figueroa, Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency World Vision.
In this first response is investing more than $ 50,000 to meet the most urgent needs of the people who stay in hostels. So far we have delivered two tons of food.
