Grandmother Approach

The Grandmother-Inclusive Approach in Cambodia

Including Grandmothers in cambodia

In late 2020, World Vision Cambodia implemented a pilot project adaptating the Grandmother Change through Culture Approach to the Cambodian context. The project, titled Grandmother-Inclusive Approach (GMIA), aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of grandmothers who provide primary care for children, supporting improved child well-being.

It also sought to reduce stress among grandmothers by facilitating community dialogue and strengthening social support systems to address changing childcare roles.

The project was implemented over 12 months in two districts in Kampong Speu province and in Phnom Penh.
