Our Commitment
Our Commitment to Ourselves and Others
World Vision is actively involved in a number of initiatives and international codes of conduct that set standards and benchmarks for governance, management, partnership and accountability. These include:
- the International NGO Accountability Charter,
- the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Response Programmes,
- the Sphere Project (Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards in Disaster Response),
- the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership Principles of Accountability,
- the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP) and
- People in Aid.
World Vision funded and oversaw the publication of a pocket version of the Transparency International Handbook on Preventing Corruption in Humanitarian Operations. This guide to recognising and preventing risks due to corruption draws on the experiences of humanitarian agencies – including World Vision – and is available to humanitarian workers everywhere in English, French and Spanish.
