As the Ukraine Crisis Response enters its fifth year, the war continues to devastate millions of lives, particularly children. Over the past four years, World Vision has reached more than 2.3 million people, including over 1 million children, providing critical support in education, mental health, protection, cash assistance, livelihoods, winterisation, and basic needs services.

Our reach by sector:

  • Multi-Purpose Cash & Voucher Programming – 31%
  • Food Security – 25%
  • Non-Food Items – 18%
  • Protection – 13%
  • Education – 12%
  • Livelihoods – 1%

Despite these efforts, millions of children remain displaced, struggling to access the basic needs every child deserves.

"The needs of children in Ukraine have evolved, and so must our response. Beyond immediate relief, children require protection, psychosocial care, quality education, and economic stability. Our role is to respond holistically, strengthening systems, restoring livelihoods, and supporting communities from survival to recovery. World Vision remains committed to walking alongside children and families until hope, dignity, and peace are restored.”

— Arman Grigoryan, World Vision Ukraine Crisis Response Director

In 2026, World Vision will continue a holistic, child-centred approach, integrating psychosocial support, education, and protection with life-saving assistance. Programming will focus on mental health, continuity of learning, and strengthening protective environments for families and communities.

Livelihoods and early recovery initiatives will expand, supporting households to rebuild sustainable income through vocational training, enterprise development, and market-relevant skills.

World Vision will deepen its commitment to localisation and partnership, empowering national and community-based organisations to lead programme design and delivery. This approach ensures that recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term development are sustainable and locally owned.
