For many Ukrainian families, returning home has strengthened children’s sense of belonging, emotional wellbeing, and connection to their communities. Reuniting with friends, returning to school, and participating in community life have been vital sources of resilience. Yet return does not mean the end of hardship. Children continue to face air raids, explosive hazards, and persistent insecurity, while anxiety, fear, and sleep disruption remain common. The findings highlight the importance of sustained support to help children and families recover, rebuild, and thrive amid ongoing conflict.
