Strengthening community resilience through soilless agriculture, World Vision, in collaboration with the World Food Programme, is leading an innovative project in Burkina Faso.

This annual report provides an overview of our work in Burkina Faso during FY23, which covers the period from October 2023 to September 2024.

The Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) Business Plan for Zambia (2023–2033) outlines a comprehensive strategy to restore 2 million hectares of degraded land, contributing to climate resilience and improved livelihoods. World Vision Zambia aims to directly restore 600,000 hectares through community-based programming and catalyse broader adoption of FMNR practices to cover an additional 1.4 million hectares. FMNR is a cost-effective land restoration technique that involves the regeneration of native trees and shrubs from existing root systems or seeds. The plan highlights FMNR’s ability to improve soil fertility, water retention, biodiversity, and agricultural productivity, ultimately doubling crop yields and increasing income for farming families.

Celebrating Semi-Annual Achievements

Yao, a dedicated farmer from Ouroubonon, overcame challenges with support from the "Developing Resilience and Reducing Malnutrition in Burkina Faso" project of World Vision, which provided vital resources and seedling training.

Residents of Nyimba District gathered in celebration on May 14, 2025, as World Vision Zambia officially handed over a maternity annex and transformative water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure projects, marking a significant step forward in community development and public health.
