Committed to Gender Equality: Gender-Transformative Programming in Practice

This report highlights World Vision Canada’s gender-transformative programming approach and its commitment to advancing gender equality as a core driver of sustainable development. Grounded in a rights-based framework, the organization addresses systemic inequalities affecting women and girls by strengthening their agency, transforming harmful social norms, and fostering inclusive environments.

Drawing on examples from global projects, the report outlines five key ingredients for effective gender-transformative programming: prioritizing gender equality across all outcomes, partnering with women and girls, creating enabling environments, challenging discriminatory norms, and engaging men, boys, and faith leaders as allies.
