In the shadow of hunger - Policy Recommendations
Download
This report by World Vision and the World Food Programme examines how aid cuts and food insecurity affect displaced children and vulnerable households across eight global hunger hotspots. Using a self-reliance lens, it explores how households’ ability to meet basic needs relates to outcomes such as education, child labour, child marriage, and mental health.
The findings show that reduced assistance increases protection risks, while greater self-reliance is consistently linked to improved child wellbeing. The report highlights the need to combine humanitarian support with long-term investments in self-reliance and policy reform.
