ACCELERATING HEALTHY AGRICULTURE AND NUTRITION (AHAN) PROJECT

Nutrition Sensitive Value Chain (NSVC) is a food value chain consisting in all the stakeholders participating in the coordinated production and value-adding activities that are needed to make food products. In consultation with Provincial and District Agriculture and Forestry Offices (PAFOs and DAFOs), project technical team and targeted communities, the nutrition rich foods including chicken, frogs, crickets, corn, banana, pumpkin and moringa were selected for detailed VC analysis in targeted districts and provinces. These products, in particular some crops, are relatively high in protein, mineral, vitamins. Their dietary diversity and local availability and familiarity, give them big potential for value addition.
