Sri Lanka: Our meals, our voice

In Sri Lanka, World Vision’s School Meals Child-led Research initiative, part of the global ENOUGH campaign, places children at the centre of efforts to improve school nutrition. Using interviews, focus groups, and surveys, child researchers explored the realities of school meals from their own lived experiences. Their findings revealed key challenges such as food quality, accessibility, and the impact of economic hardship on nutrition. 

This participatory approach not only highlights the barriers children face but also their aspirations for a future where every student enjoys healthy, reliable meals at school. By amplifying children’s voices in advocacy, the initiative calls for inclusive, child-informed solutions to strengthen school meal programmes across Sri Lanka.
