Sponsored child Ihirwe Prince, 15, believes poverty has been the main cause of so many problems around him such as HIV and AIDS. "I felt I have the responsibility to do something. That is why I joined the Anti-HIV and AIDS Club in school. I saw the problem in my neighbourhood," he says. Prince lives with his mother Josie, 32, while his father works in a university up-country while completing his college education. The club in GS Busanza where Prince studies encourages teenagers like Prince to become active in advocacy initiatives so they can support their fellow youth groups and become more involved in issues affecting them. This year, Prince was elected club secretary. Photo by Cecil Laguardia
