  • Refugee population: There are an estimated 175,000 Congolese and Burundian refugees in Rwanda as at December 2018. More than 50% of all Burundian refugees in Rwanda are children and require assistance to access educational supplies, clean drinking water and nutrition interventions.
  • Ebola Virus preparedness: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Rwanda has been classified as one of the high risk zones following outbreak of the Ebola Virus in the Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. World Vision together with partners are taking the necessary steps to support preparedness measures.
  • Supporting education for refugees: World Vision continues to support education interventions in five refugee camps through payment of school fees, school feeding, and incentives for refugee teachers. At least 27,000 refugees are being supported to access primary and secondary education. For more information, read or download our December 2018 situation report.
