  • According to the UN, Rwanda hosts an estimated 145,000 refugees as at December 2018. Despite some access to livelihood opportunities, refugees continue to remain almost entirely dependent on humanitarian assistance for food. Increasing access to opportunities to earn a living will make them more self-sustainable in the long run.
  • Children living in refugee camps are at high risk of chronic malnutrition and need access to more nutritious food. Empowering refugee families with income generating activities will boost their livelihoods and enable them to provide a diverse diet to children.
