It has been six months since the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on 28 March 2025.The devastating quake caused widespread damage to homes, schools, health centres, and public infrastructure across Mandalay and Sagaing regions. It has worsened an already dire humanitarian situation, with nearly 20 million people nationwide in need of assistance due to prolonged conflict, recurring natural disasters, and economic collapse. Among them are more than 3.5 million people displaced from their homes, further deepening the crisis. From Day 1, we acted swiftly—restoring access to clean water and sanitation to prevent disease outbreaks, providing food and cash assistance to address food insecurity and urgent needs, offering protection services including mental health and psychosocial support for women and children, delivering shelter assistance to displaced families, and supporting livelihood recovery through VisionFund.

How World Vision Mozambique Delivered in 2024

In many parts of Zambia, children continue to face significant challenges that threaten their safety, development, and future. Early marriages, teen pregnancies, and harmful cultural practices remain deeply rooted in some communities, often compounded by weak child protection systems and limited access to support services. These issues not only jeopardise the well-being of boys and girls but also hinder broader efforts toward sustainable development and social cohesion.

This article highlights a World Food Programme–supported project in Tanganyika province that combined nutritional aid with HIV treatment, helping nearly 6,600 people living with HIV regain strength, dignity, and hope. Through the voices of beneficiaries, soldiers, mothers, and teachers, it shows how fortified meals became more than food: they became survival, resilience, and a chance to live fully again.

Since October 2023, World Vision has reached more than 1 million people in the West Bank in response to the worsening humanitarian situation.
