One Meal, One Classroom, One Future
With acute hunger affecting 318 million people globally, many of them children, the crisis has more than doubled since 2019, putting education and child protection at risk.
Every day, children arrive at school carrying more than books. They carry hunger, uncertainty, and the impact of conflict, climate shocks, and economic instability. In fragile contexts such as Ethiopia, hunger undermines concentration, reduces school attendance, and pushes learning out of reach. Yet even in crisis‑affected settings, solutions exist.
Through a partnership between World Vision and the World Food Programme (WFP), school feeding programmes are helping children stay in school, stay nourished and stay protected. School meals are a proven investment in learning, resilience, and human capital, especially in humanitarian emergencies.
In 2025, World Vision, with the support of partners, provided school meals to 1 million children.
Because when children are nourished, learning resumes, and the future comes back within reach.
One meal. One classroom. One future.
