Empowering Youth in Badaguichiri: How World Vision Helps Young People Unlock Their Potential

In the commune of Badaguichiri, as in many rural areas of Niger, young people face multiple challenges: unemployment, lack of guidance, limited access to training, and a feeling of powerlessness in the face of daily difficulties. Despite their desire to contribute to the development of their community, many struggle to find a clear direction for building a stable future.
It is in this context that World Vision, working alongside communities, has offered a valuable opportunity to several young people: the “Enhanced Perception of the World” training program, a learning space that helps each individual better understand their environment, their responsibilities, and their personal potential.
Among the participants is Laouali Abdoulrazikou, 28, a young community leader, married and father of one child. His journey perfectly illustrates the transformative impact of this initiative. “Before, I wanted to help my community, but I didn't know where to start.”

Before the training, Laouali lived in uncertainty, as he himself explains: “My life was marked by a lot of doubts. I wanted to succeed, support my family, and be useful to my community, but I didn't really know which path to follow. I lacked self-confidence and thought that without significant resources, nothing could be accomplished.”
Although involved in community activities, he felt limited, sometimes even discouraged by the difficult realities of local life.
Laouali's participation in the training was a key moment: "From the very first days, I realised that this was not a training program like any other. It opened my eyes to my own value. I learned that with very little, you can go a long way if you use resources wisely and are truly committed."
Beyond the practical modules, Laouali says he discovered a new way of perceiving his role within the community. The discussions on peaceful coexistence, collective work, and solidarity made a particular impression on him. “I understood the importance of helping each other and trusting each other. Together, we can overcome even the most difficult challenges.”
Today, Laouali says he is no longer the same person: “This training has transformed me. I feel stronger, more responsible, and more confident. I now have the courage to take initiative and actively participate in the development of my community.” "
He uses the knowledge he has acquired on a daily basis to make better decisions, guide the young people around him, and strengthen his commitment to his family and community. “I now know that difficulties are not definitive obstacles, but opportunities to learn and grow.”
Recognizing the support he received, Laouali sent a message to World Vision: “I am deeply grateful to World Vision for this training, which has changed my life. Its impact is lasting. May God bless them for all they do for our communities.” "
Laouali's story is that of a young man who, thanks to an opportunity seized at the right time, was able to build his confidence, clarify his vision for the future, and become a positive agent of change in his community.
