Gueta Chapo, the wife of the President of Mozambique, has reiterated her commitment to work for the well-being of children in Mozambique by working in close partnership with World Vision.

Mrs Chapo met with Lori Perkovich, World Vision's Interim Senior UN Representative, in New York, on the fringes of this year's Global First Partners' Academy, organized by the Ford Foundation.

The occasion served for both parties to reaffirm their interest to join forces in promoting schools meals as part of ongoing efforts to tackle child malnutrition, prevent and fight gender-based violence and violence against children, and promote the rights of people with disability, especially children.

Earlier in February, World Vision's Country Director, Maria Carolina Silva in Mozambique had been received in a courtesy meeting by Mozambique's 1st Lady who welcomed the organization's invitation to champion the ENOUGH Global Campaign to end child malnutrition.
