World Vision has been admitted as a member of Mozambique’s Local Education Group (LEG), under the Ministry of Education and Culture's broader membership framework.

“I can confirm that this inclusion reflects World Vision’s commitment to supporting national education priorities through policy dialogue, technical collaboration, and programmatic alignment with the advocacy group Education Movement for All (MEPT) and other stakeholders,” said Lopes Nazare Lopes.

The LEG serves as the primary platform for coordinating the education sector, bringing together government entities, development partners, civil society, and technical agencies to align efforts, harmonize funding, and monitor sector progress within the framework of the Education Sector Strategic Plan.

Through regular joint sector reviews and working group engagements, the LEG supports decision-making on critical issues such as education quality, equity, financing, and decentralized governance.

The group’s thematic focus areas include teacher training, curriculum reform, school management, education in emergencies, and strengthening data systems. By fostering strong coordination between platforms such as MEPT and its partners, the LEG ensures that external support is nationally owned, evidence-driven, and aligned with Mozambique’s long-term educational goals.

World Vision’s participation enhances this collaborative effort, particularly in addressing the needs of vulnerable learners in conflict-affected and rural areas.
