Handing Over Ceremony: Empowering Farmers, Strengthening Livelihoods
On the morning of 14 October 2025, World Vision International Sierra Leone reached a significant milestone in the Sustainable Livelihood Enhancement through Livestock Project by officially handing over 2,000 chickens, 54 sheep, farm tools and seedlings to small-scale farmers in the Galikrim Cluster, Pujuhun District.

Funded by World Vision Canada and implemented under the ENOUGH Campaign, our global movement to end child hunger and malnutrition, this six-month initiative is transforming lives and communities by strengthening food systems and improving household nutrition.
Through the project, 100 farming households have been equipped with resources and practical training to boost agricultural productivity and income. The initiative directly supports Sierra Leone’s Presidential Flagship “Feed Salone” program, aligning with national efforts to enhance food security, resilience, and sustainable agriculture.
In partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, World Vision provided targeted training in crop and livestock management, sustainable farming techniques, and agribusiness skills, ensuring farmers are empowered not just with resources, but with the knowledge to sustain and grow them.
Before the handover, all beneficiaries received hands-on capacity building and technical guidance, laying the foundation for long-term success.
This effort goes beyond improving access to nutritious food; it strengthens livelihoods, resilience, and community well-being, helping families build a more secure and hopeful future.
World Vision would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to their dedicated partners and committed community members, as well as to World Vision Canada for their unwavering support.
Through strategic collaboration, World Vision Sierra Leone is driving sustainable impact to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive and to experience life in all its fullness.
