Revitalising impact: strengthening Ukraine’s resilience across sectors

The children and families we serve depend on consistent support to rebuild their lives amidst ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Any interruption risks undoing years of progress and endangers the safety and hope of those most in need.
The ongoing war continues to drive sustained humanitarian needs in Ukraine - in 2025, 12.7 million people – 36 per cent of the population – require humanitarian assistance.
"The children and families we serve depend on consistent support to rebuild their lives amidst ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Any interruption risks undoing years of progress and endangers the safety and hope of those most in need" – shares Diana Ceci, World Vision's Chief of Party, managing the project funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
As part of the Ukraine Response Consortium, World Vision continues its activities within the project “Providing multi-sectoral humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected populations in Ukraine” launched in 2023, reaffirming its commitment alongside ACTED and our trusted local partners: Charitable Fund "Arms of Mercy," Youth Movement "Be Free," Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health, and NGO "Girls".
In July 2025, World Vision launched the registration process for Cash Assistance in Mykolaiv, a city in southern Ukraine near the Black Sea that is under constant threats from drones, missiles, and shelling.
The cash assistance gives 3,600 UAH per person each month for three months. Instead of monthly payments, beneficiaries receive a total of 10,800 UAH all at once to cover the full period. It aims to strengthen household resilience and ensure that the most vulnerable families receive the essential support they need to rebuild their lives.
This assistance restores my dignity and hope. It helps me to care for my family and keeps me moving forward despite the hardships we face in Ukraine.
To date, a total of 4,780 beneficiaries have been registered across eight locations, in close collaboration with our dedicated local partners, Arms of Mercy and Youth Movement "Be Free." Our goal is to continue this initiative until March 2026 and reach about 23,600 more beneficiaries across Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovska and Donetska oblasts.

As Tetiana, one of cash recipients shares, “This assistance restores my dignity and hope. It helps me to care for my family and keeps me moving forward despite the hardships we face in Ukraine”.
Funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, this project aims to strengthen the resilience and coping capacities of conflict-affected populations in Ukraine by providing timely, multi-sectoral humanitarian support.
The project adopts a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach, focusing on critical areas including Cash assistance, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter and Settlements, Food Security and Nutrition, Protection, Humanitarian Coordination and Information Management, Needs Assessments, and support for Economic Recovery and Market Systems.

Each partner contributes specialised expertise – ranging from cash-based interventions to the operation of child-friendly spaces – enabling a holistic response that addresses the diverse needs of affected communities across nearly every region of Ukraine.
Since 2023, we have reached communities in Dnipropetrovska, Donetska, Kharkivska, Khersonska, Kyivska, Lvivska, Mykolaivska, Odeska, Sumska, Vinnytska, Zakarpatska, and Zaporizka oblasts, working tirelessly to protect and support vulnerable children and families in these challenging times.
Our collective efforts prioritize dignity, protection, and sustainable recovery for those impacted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. To date, World Vision Ukraine Crisis Response has reached more than 2,25 million people, including 1,025,264 children. They were supported through basic needs assistance, protection and education interventions, cash assistance, livelihood, mental health and livelihoods programs.
