Earthquakes bring devastation to Venezuela
Venezuela is facing a catastrophic double crisis — already home to the largest displacement crisis in the Western Hemisphere, the capital Caracas was struck on June 24 by two massive earthquakes just 39 seconds apart, measuring 7.2 and 7.5.
At least 164 people have been confirmed dead, 30,000 are reported missing, and the main international airport has been shut down, complicating aid access.
World Vision has been responding to Venezuela's pre-existing humanitarian emergency since 2019, but funding was already critically short before the earthquakes struck.
