Professor Telahun is a distinguished paediatrician, public health specialist and bioethics leader whose career has focused on improving child health, ethical healthcare and medical education in Ethiopia. He also serves as Vice Chairperson of the World Vision Ethiopia Advisory Council.

For more than four decades, he has combined clinical practice, research and national policy leadership to strengthen healthcare systems serving children and families.

His expertise in paediatrics, public health and research ethics contributes directly to conversations around child wellbeing, healthcare quality and equitable access to services. Professor Telahun has also mentored generations of medical professionals, helping strengthen Ethiopia’s healthcare workforce and promoting ethical, child-centred care.
